Submarine ChannelDesigned by Ben Conrad of Logan, the main title of Zombieland combined spectacular slow motion live action scenes of attacking zombies and a powerful score by Metallica with suiting typography. Pure solid entertainment, so the jury voted anonymously for this title sequence. The Runner Up, Earthwork by Stan Herd, also won the Audience Award. This was just a great example of how title sequences can be emotionally engaging. And the Special Jury Award went to Enter the Void by French director Gaspar Noe, which provoked us with its unconventional style and in-your-face typography. Our co-jurors were Karin Fong of Imaginary Forces, Ian Albinson and Alexander Ulloa of Art of the Title, Susan Bradley of Pixar and Ron Pippin of Shiny Object. (Updated March 20).
