Some 30 US pop stars and other celebs joined forces to support the Barack Obama presidential campaign. The initiative, which is proving incredibly viral, did not come from the Obama team, but from Black Eyed Peas front man will.i.am, who wrote a song ‘Yes We Can’ based very literally on Obama’s New Hampshire speech. On his website, will explains how, in order to act quickly, he had to bypass record company release strategies and put the song and video together with some friends in no more than 48 hours. The video was posted on will’s website and on YouTube of course, where it’s been receiving hundreds of thousands of hits a day.
