We’re still waiting for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to award an Oscar for the best film title design (it’s one of our hangups). American TV title designers are better off; they’ve got their Emmy for Outstanding Main Title Design. The titles that get nominated represent some of the best American TV Title Designs. Find out who’s nominated this year (with links to the titles).
The latest addition to Forget the Film, Watch the Titles is a Bob Kurtz’ title (image) that we didn’t post yet – an ‘oldie’ from 1994: The classic animated opener for City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly’s Gold. See it here
This year’s Emmy award nominees for Outstanding Main Title Design are: Chuck and Mad Men by Imaginary Forces, New Amsterdam by Pure, Bernard and Doris by Yu+Co (in the News section), and our personal favorite The Company by Digital Kitchen. Winners will be announced during the award ceremony, September 2.
