DJ Derek: Serotonin-rich

This no–frills production presents DJ Derek, a character so loveable that you just can’t stop watching. A white gentleman, now in his 60s, he found his calling as a bringer of good vibes in the form of rocksteady, ska and roots music. The trans-cultural ex-accountant grew who up in poverty-stricken post-war Bristol (UK), found solace in the early imports of African-American music in the 1950s, before moving into the Jamaican neighborhood of St Paul’s, learning patois at a local barbershop, and becoming an honorary Jamaican. The best bit is when he invokes his inner rasta and blows up the mic like a regular ragga MC. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face!
