Submarine Channel
We just came across this delightful little morsel of short filmness, created back in 2007 by the young hotshot they call Ray Tintori (of MGMT psychaedelia fame). Death to the Tinman has echoes of the marvel comic about it, with our protagonist in the role of flawed super-hero. Complete with elderly, avuncular side-kick and devoted damsel, this small-town drama is defined by a charming tone that combines over-the top tension-building with a generous helping of tongue-in-cheek.
