They rose like a phoenix from the ashes! Equipped with some trashy old cameras and iMac DV 1.0 way back in 1999, the Neistat Brothers started making hundreds of gloriously shabby real-life vignettes which made people laugh, finally finding interweb fame in 2003 with the YouTube hit iPod’s Dirty Little Secret. Fast forward to 2010 and they have their very own HBO show! Sticking with their tried and tested format, the show weaves together handmade, autobiographical segments that document the brothers’ high jinks over a month of their zany lives in the Big Apple. From this adrenaline-fuelled “only in New York” moment, to all the fun of dysfunction, HBO strikes again with something fresh and cross-media happy.
