Horror On-the-Go

Finally some big guns (Marvel, CBS mobile and publishing house Scribner) have opened their eyes wide to the potential of mobile entertainment. Their Killer Content project for small screen mobile platforms is a graphic novel/video series hybrid called “N”, created by none other than the King of Terror Stephen King and esteemed graphic novelist Alex Maleev (‘Daredevil Vol 2’). Starting July 28, you can get your 2-minute King fix every weekday till August 25; that’s 25 episodes of horror on-the-go. Watch the first episode for free and judge for yourself if you think 25 episodes of “N” is worth the 4 bucks (for free if you’re in the US and with one of the large mobile carriers).
The story of ā€œNā€ is just very Stephen King. In a nutshell: Psychiatrist falls victim to one of his patient’s deadly obessions. But King’s talent for storytelling and Maleev’s dark art are a perfect match. The atmospheric graphic novel style combined with sparse animation is very reminiscent of SubmarineChannel’s interactive comic book adaptation The Killer, which was developed specially for the Web way back in 2001.
