Sometimes an image can trigger some happy moments of reminiscence. For instance, a music video that shared quite a lot of familiarities with the work of Chris Cunningham, started us to wonder what ever happened to Cunningham. We wrote a few words on this and a visitor of SubmarineChannel asked us if we heard anything from Shynola lately.
Shynola, a group of four artists from London, made impressive promos for acclaimed bands like Radiohead, Blur and Morcheeba, but in the last couple of years we slightly lost track of them.
We contacted Shynola via The Directors Bureau and this is what they replied: “We have been taking time away from commissioned animation work to develop a feature film script, based on The Redmen by Matthew Abaitua. The book is set in East London in the near future. We are hoping to begin talks with film companies later in the year.”
Ahay, so rumours about them resting on their laurels are unfounded. Being very curious about this project, we hope to bring you more details on it in the future.
